Through the fight between the Capulet’s and Montague’s servants, the deaths of Mercutio and Tybalt, and ultimately the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare emphasizes that most long-term feuds will include a lot of violence. In order for the Capulets and the Montagues to resolve their feud, there had to be four public fights and many people had to die. Although people today may not go to the extremes of killing others, many long-term neighborhood feuds involve violence that can range from horrible verbal fights to physical brawling. Also, many of the characters in Romeo and Juliet were very realistic, and people today can relate to them. Through Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare perfectly describes how violence is almost a necessity in long-term
