Volunteering allows individuals to become well-rounded individuals who are organized and reliable. One of my greatest strengths is to ensure that individuals are pleased with the services that I provide. I go out of all limits to ensure that I have properly assisted an individual with a difficulty. As a part of Project Darasani, a non-profit organization who collects school supplies such as, pencils, erasers, sharpeners and markers for children in Tanzania, I provide children tools for education. The supplies are packaged and mailed to Project Darasani in Atlanta, who physically distribute these bags to the underprivileged children. We received large donations of pencils, rulers, erasers and even pens. This was such an amazing project as we had a chance to assist those who are underprivileged in our world. Many times throughout the years, I have assisted with the Children Arts Program at the Surrey Art Gallery by volunteering as an assistant to the teacher. I enjoy working with children and creating art and crafts. Through this activity, I have enhanced my skills of working with others, as I work with the instructors and other volunteers. My greatest achievement was when a child told me that she was very happy that I was helping their class and said thank you. I felt so proud that I was working with these children and helping them create art. I spend time with the instructors preparing for art lessons and take care of the children as well.
