In Harrison Bergeron we found in the first paragraph (Pg. 1 Line 1 ) "it is the year 2081", and it's apparent that everyone is of equality among the use of mental handicaps and physicality. There is three amendments the United States Constitution has mandated in the 211th, 212th, ad 213th which is enforced by a handicap general by the name of Diana Moon Glampers. Vonnegut's purpose is ambiguous and clear. He shows a society potential is only as far as the least factor (the mediocre, the doubters, and the stupid) and he does so by handicapping all of the astonishing talented and intellectual people. According to Vonnegut, human propriety is to give such people more succor in equality, ambitiously having a more than the mere appendages of humanity.
