E. B. Du Bois Twoness is defined as the fact or state of being two; duality in the dictionary. W. E. B. Du Bois describes it as double conciseness basically meaning there is what you think of yourself and what society thinks of you. He says society makes it difficult to develop a sense of self. Double consciousness is still a very relevant concept in our society. Many people of all cultures would like to believe that we live in a post-racial society. society says a young black mail is destined to go to jail at least once so its hard for him to know that he is worth way more and can accomplish anything in life with society always in the back of these youngness they find it hard to discover themselves. This is still relevant in society today even though people do not realize it so many people believe that racism is not an issue but if you think about it the number one excuse police shoot our black men is because they were “scared” the question is why ? Its because the white society has this perception of blacks and assume that they are a danger when really they are no harm at all. More black men are in jail because more black men are pulled over in a day then whites. The world makes it so hard for blacks to advance because our media sells us images of black men as athletes, rappers or criminals and as a result white America perceives black men as such and young black males see these limited paths as they're only options for advancement when they can really become doctors, lawyers, and pilots. We are so stuck in the past and society is not open to accept blacks in high paying jobs with an education and or running businesses. I call that a form
