As an advocate of Walden’s community mission, I see myself as a catalyst for positive social change as I continue to work with young people, especially students with disabilities who desire to enroll in postsecondary schools and be successful. My interest was inspired from working in well-diverse populations that consist of young people who aspire to pursue education but are unable to excel due to various mental health, learning and physiological factors that prevent them from matriculating in postsecondary schools. As a Walden member advocate, I desire to see more practitioners and educational personnel become more familiar with students who pose with disabilities support a safer environment for this population.
