As a very close friend and advisor of Walt Disney, I recommend him to your University, for his great accomplishments and impact on the world. Walter Elias Disney is a film producer, animator, and amusement park creator, who was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois. Disney was a man with dream. With hard work and determination Disney was able to fulfill his desire, by creating a virtual and physical “world” of Disney. Disney displayed the sense of leadership, bravery, and creativity to become a successful individual and have a positive impact on the society making him a role model for millions. Disney grew up in Kansas City, Missouri where he discovered his love for art and animation. He was a very talented artist, so he started drawing cartoons for a local newspaper company. However, this was not enough for Disney, Disney had a dream that he had to accomplish, and was willing to do anything for this dream. Disney told his father that he wanted to become an animator, but his father did not approve. Still, Disney ignored his father’s advice and grabbed his suitcase with a couple of dollars and moved down to Hollywood to chase his dream. He stayed at his uncle’s house and worked in his garage late nights, creating imaginary worlds and characters that were waiting to come to life. Since then on, Disney himself was a hard man to stop, he and his team created film after film. For example, the first feature-length cartoon, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), following its immense success led to, Pinocchio (1940), Fantasia (1940), Dumbo (1941), and Bambi (1942). With the rise of Disney, he became one of the most powerful men in motion pictures. Disney’s creativity, bravery and leadership led the company towards the right path to success. Moreover, Disney created something larger than just movies he created an American icon, known as “Walt Disney”, who was praised by people, especially children from all over the world. “He was also said to be the only man in Hollywood to be praised by both the American Legion and the Soviet Union.” (Gale). Disney inspired children of all ages through his movies, because these movies sent a personal message to all, that everyone should follow their dreams and never give up. Also, Disney became a symbol for hope, that anything is possible, when you put your heart and mind into it. With Disney’s impact on the entertainment business and on the audience of his movies, Disney became known as one of the greatest animator and film producers to ever live.
