Walter Brueggemann’s “The Creative Word” is a celebration of creativity and practical genius. Its model is a wonderful and truthful compilation of intellectual genius and experience. Brueggeman triumphantly weaves a model of successful biblical education by demonstrating the usefulness and timelessness of canon, the binding of Torah and its narrative that speaks to the past, present and future of generational and intergenerational learning, the reoccurring themes of Justice and freedom that are cyclical proclamations of the prophetic voice, the discernment of God’s divine order that is reciprocated through symbols of priest (Torah), King (Wisdom) and Prophet (inspired word), and our response to each voice thorough our relationship and obedience to the creator. This is embodiment of word.

He uses the overlapping God models of the Ephesians 4:11-13 to prove the strength of scripture and canon as educational repertoire. I would suggest Cannon/Binding as the office of Apostle that is able to justify, establish and breath life into the remaining four components of Brueggman’s Educational model.

The overlapping disclosure of Binding that allows us to cry out for justice (because of positional relationship) is the tearing down and establishing Prophetic voice that is the proclaimed word of God.
