Walter Payton born July 25, 1954 in Columbia, Mississippi. He was a running back for the Chicago Bears. He was nicknamed "Sweetness". He played in the 20th super bowl. He played in the NFL for 13 seasons. He was put in the hall of fame for his skills on the field.

He was one of the greatest players in NFL history. He earned 9 pro bowl selections and set several rushing records during his 13 years with the Chicago Bears. In his 4 years at Jackson state, Payton rushed for more than 3,500 yards and scored more than 450 points. He joined the Chicago Bears in 1975. He was know for his speed, power and generosity on and off the field. He rushed for a single game record of 275 yards in 1977 finishing the year as the league MVP. He earned a super bowl ring in January 1986.

He used to call his assistant and say that she wont see him in the office the next morning. He would tell her to have a nice life without him.
