Hello, my name is Walter Ray Allen, Jr. I was born July 20th, 1975 in Merced California at the hospital of Castle Air Force Base. My parents are named Walter and Flora Allen. I was named after my own dad, Walter. I had a tough time growing up. I was moving all the time. It was hard making new friends for me especially because I was often picked on because of the way I looked and talked. We finally moved to Dalzell, California and that’s where I spent four years of my high school there. I played many of sports growing up, but as I hit my growth spurt I started to concentrate a lot on basketball. I practiced as much as I could, mostly everyone doubted I couldn’t reach my dreams of making it to the NBA. I played seven years there and then traded to the Supersonics playing with rookies Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. I was then traded after 5 years in Seattle to the Celtics. I played seven years there and played with all stars Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. I was then traded again for the last time and played only two years with the Miami Heat with all stars LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. I then retired after those two years to raise my children. In the NBA I earned all kinds of awards such as making the all star game nine times and entering the playoffs 11 times and only winning the finals twice. I earned the All-NBA team, NBA all rookie team, USA Basketball Male of the year, UPI College Basketball Player, NBA Sportsmanship Award, and the Big East Conference Men’s Player of the Year. I made the most 3 pointers in my career than anybody else and is ranked the second best three pointer in the world after Stephen Curry.
