The War of 1812, is the war when America took a stand against Great Britain for their future.
Although The United States suffered many costly defeats from British, Canadian and Native American troops over the course of the War of 1812. They had won big battles against the British during this War. These battle victories, in New Orleans, New York, and Baltimore against the British boosted the confidence of the United States. With the Treaty of Ghent the war was over and America celebrated their separation from the British government. After the War of 1812 historians have labeled this period as the “Era of Good Feelings” during this time United States had multiple disagreements and agreements. Slavery was the biggest issue during the presidency of Monroe. What was once called the “Peculiar Institution” by the leaders of the constitutional convention, so the United States constitution can pass it. Ever since then there has been constant conflicting views on how to take slavery and hurt not only the government but the people and how they treated each other. Document G explains how some Americans are scared of slavery and how slaves have been treated terribly and about a slave rebellion happening. Denmark Vesey's rebellion is a perfect example of how Slavery must be stopped when an uprising by slaves and freemen in and around charleston in spring 1822. The Day America gained independence was the best day for most Americans ,but what about the blacks, and natives. In Document C it shows the purpose of the picture is to show how groups of Americans are happy except that there is only one black kid that looks scared. Though it was the independence of the U.S. and they got their flag and anthem. There are like one black person and few women celebrating. This shows how after the War of 1812 was an “Era of Good Feelings” to some of the white American
