Poverty a tale as old as time is a vicious cycle of misery for many around the United States (U.S.) who’s grasps is hard to escape. In the aftermath of the Great Recession poverty has been of great concern for many politician and economist. Poverty was so much of a concern in 1964 that President Lyndon Johnson declared a “War on Poverty.” The “War of Poverty” made great strides in reducing the poverty rate in the U.S. The policy is responsible for programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). There are a myriad of consequences of the effects of poverty. Many of those living in poverty are less likely to obtain a post-secondary education, which decreases their likelihood of obtaining well-paying jobs that would stave off
