1) Numerous students at Warren New Technology High School get caught for plagiarism throughout the year from all grade levels. Why do you think they plagiarize?
I believe that students plagiarism at New Tech because it is easier than doing the work. I am aware that most students often procrastinate till the last minute, and then do not have enough time to finish. This causes students to turn to plagiarism in order to pass a class. I think that students believe that they will not be caught because the teacher will not check, but that is not the case.

2) How does UNC treat students who plagiarize, and how do you feel about this?
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill treats plagiarism very seriously, and often gives students very harsh penalties. The article stated

Technology High School took this approach from the University of Virginia towards plagiarism, what impact do you feel it would have on the students and your senior class?
If New Tech took the same approach as the University of Virginia, many students would be expelled. However, the Honor Code would immediately stop plagiarism because of the risk. Students would be less likely to cheat or plagiarize because of the harsh punishment if they are caught. I believe this approach might be a little harsh for students just entering high school, since they are not quite accustomed to the work load and rigor. Even so, I think upperclassmen should be held to a higher standard, and the Honor Code would be an appropriate trust.
