In science we did pond studies out on the Warrior Pond, we recorded water temperature, pH level, DO levels, nitrate levels, and others over the past few weeks. One change over time was the water temperature, another was Dissolved Oxygen level (DO) and the last one was pH level.

The first thing my group observed out at Warrior Pond was water temperature. The water temperature was recorded in degrees Celsius so it could correspond with everything else easier. I noticed over the course of about a month the water temperature stayed pretty much consistent for the first five days we went out. The last three days we observed the water temperature dropped and stayed in that area until the end. On September 16th, day one of observations the water temperature was 19.2°C. By October 21st, day 8 of observations the

There are lots of different things that could affect the pH levels, but seeing as the pH levels never really changed there wasn’t much that did affect the pH levels over the month. On September 16th the pH levels read 6, by October 21st the pH levels read 7. The lowest pH level recorded was 5 on September 30th. One of the things that affected the pH levels was photosynthesis, plants take in carbon dioxide which can increase the pH level. If we had a low pH level that would mean the plants aren’t healthy enough and aren’t taking in a lot of carbon dioxide, it would also cause the fish and other organisms to die because they can’t live in low pH levels. The pH levels stayed consistent because there was nothing in the water harmful enough to change the levels. If there was anything in the water harmful enough to change it would either make the number go up or down, either can be deadly. In conclusion the pH level was consistent and healthy for the organisms living in Warrior
