Life, like a story from a book is full of ordinary events that do not significantly affect us. However, when a major incident occurs that changes our lives completely, this is what we refer to as the “Turning Point” in our lives. Moreover, in Warriors Don’t Cry, I Never Had It Made, and “The Father of Chinese Aviation”, the authors talk about how the turning points in the lives of Melba Pattillo Beals, Jackie Robinson, and Feng Ru, permanently changed not only their lives, but the lives of their people, and irrevocably changed their countries.
When she decided to attend an all-white school, Melba Pattillo Beals instigated enhance learning for all colored people. This life-changing experience challenged Melba by compromising her life. Surrounded by caring and loving people, who not only prayed for her and the other students, but supported them, made Beals feel invincible. A quote from her memoir, ”Flood the Holy Spirit into the hearts and minds of those who would attack our children.” The government also ensured their safety by sending troops to protect them. In her book, she mentioned, “Proud that I lived in a country that would go this far to bring justice to a Little Rock girl like me, but sad that they had to go to such great lengths.” The events caused Beals to grow and develop by making her resolute and confident.
