Alexander the Great was in fact not great because he caused many harm to people and the cities. He was the son of King Philip II, and his father was not liked by most people.Many people thought that Alexander would turn out the same way.There are many reasons in why he wasn’t so great. Many people say he was great, but that was because they only looked at his accomplishments. Many people didn’t see that he actually didn’t so so many “great” things. He ruined a lot of cultures and traditions and often many families.

Alexander to some of the troops showed respect for the conquered Persians. He also treated the people and territories that he had conquered in a harsh and disrespectful manner. When he had finally captured the city, he sold most of the 30,000 people into slavery. Another time, his troops retreated the Persian army, and slaughtered about 40,000 men. Alexander stole the city's most great riches for himself to have. He also allowed his men to burn down the Great Palace and the temples around it.The Great Palace was an important part of the Persian culture, traditions and the artistic achievements of many people in the Persian empire. Some people in the Persian empire respected him for the other point of the cultures, but the other people saw him as a conqueror who did not care about the Persian traditions, customs,and the beliefs of those people.
Alexander the Great, was not in fact all that great. He had caused many families to split up, many battles to break out, and many cultures, and traditions to be lost. People may have valued him but in my opinion many people did not like what he did for the Greek culture. They said he was just like his father, and they were right because he was harsh in many ways to the people and the cities.
