Was Andrew Jackson A Hero Or A Villain?

Andrew Jackson was one of the most powerful and influential presidents of the nineteenth century. Even though he was a great leader, that strengthened the power of the presidency and was a forefather of the modern democratic party. He was also a very short-tempered man that was racist responsible for the deaths of countless Native Americans, and had little or no respect for human life towards African Americans. I argue that Andrew Jackson should be remembered as a villain rather as an influential hero in our historical memory because his decisions and actions showed and proved that he abused his power. His power corrupted the national bank, deaths of many Indians (Indian removal act), and violence towards slaves that he owned (slave holdings).
