In my opinion, I think Daisy was responsible for Gatsby’s death. I think this because of the following: Daisy was having an affair, she ran over Myrtle, and guilt. Therefore, she was mostly responsible for the death of Jay Gatsby.
Daisy Buchanan was having an affair with Jay Gatsby at the time of Myrtle’s death. Tom Buchanan, Daisy Buchanan’s husband, and Daisy had a big argument that could’ve lead to her hit and run(Fitzgerald). Tom was very upset when he found out about the affair his wife and Gatsby was having behind his back(Fitzgerald). In fact, he was so upset that he told George Wilson, Myrtle’s husband that Gatsby was the one who ran over his wife when really it was Daisy. Therefore, I think that it was Daisy’s fault because she didn’t slow down after she seen Myrtle in the road, due to her lack of anger.

Gatsby really cared about Daisy, therefore he took the blame. Daisy had him thinking that she was coming to live with him, but really she wasn’t ever planning on coming to stay with Gatsby due to the way the lived. In other words, Daisy stayed with tom because he was the status quo(Lowe).
Daisy was feeling very guilty for running over Myrtle. In fact, she was so scared that she never confessed that she did it even when the town was trying to figure out still who did it(Fitzgerald). Daisy was the reason Gatsby got shot because she never admitted to the situation. In my opinion, I think that if she really loved Gatsby, she wouldn’t have never let Gatsby go down like that. Even after Gatsby was shot, she still never confessed to the killing. Not only did she not confess to it, she didn’t even show up to Gatsby's
