On September 5, 1939, the dead body of the civil servant Fernando Torres, 45, was found in a barber shop in the small town of La Ciudad Falsa; the investigators believe one or more rebels are responsible for his murder.

The current prime suspect is the owner of the barbershop, Antonio Lopez. This is because Antonio Lopez is suspected to have connections to the rebels who Torres had executed and the more obvious reason of the Torres being found his barbershop. Whether Mr. Lopez is innocent or not will be determined after the investigation is concluded.

After extensive research it became evident that Torres would hold live executions of captured rebels, creating live spectacles to make sure the people of La Ciudad Falsa knew the consequences of rebelling.

“I’m glad he got killed, he deserved everything he got”, says local grocery store owner Alejandro Garcia. Whether Fernando Torres’ murder was justified is debatable, but that does not mean he was a simple man.

Fernando Torres was born in the city of Puebla. As someone from a poor family, he was a perfect example of what hard work achieves. As soon as he joined the military, he was recognized as someone with potential. He wouldn’t assigned to the small town like La Ciudad Falsa, but he seemed to posses a mild violent tendency and the higher ups wanted him to become more experienced.

Whether Fernando Torres was an admirable underdog or a vile monster, remains in question. Though what is evident is that his death was the landmark of the 300th civil servant killed by rebels this year.
