Was George a good friend? I believe that this is true. In the story “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck, George Milton is a small and very sharp figure in the story. While Lennie Small, George’s counterpart, is a very large man with a undefined facial features. Many of the arguments that can be made can go either way, he was a good a friend or bad but I am here to end the dispute. I believe that George was a good friend because he protected Lennie from almost anything that may of hurt him. For instance George threw the dead mouse away because he didn't want Lennie to get sick (Steinbeck 9). George want him to feel safe no matter what situation they may be in because they are friends. No matter what situation friends might be in each person should try to do the best for the other person. In conclusion friendship can be expressed many different ways, whether it's spending time with them or just having fun and bonding with that person. In the story “Of Mice and Men”, Lennie and George are great friends and will do anything to protect each other. Even if it means taking it to the worst option to save your friend, the underlying theme of the story would be friendship and what you have to sacrifice to put others as your first priority. The best way that I would be able to summarize this story would be that friendship will always end up having you to make very hard decisions and some of them you will not like, but in the endwill be the best
