The word Revolution means “change”, if that’s so, how can we describe “The American Revolution”? For years, historians have been debating on whether “The American Revolution” was conservative or radical. Many pieces of evidence has led us to believe that it was quite radical. In fact, it has good reason to, for the Revolution brought in much Social Change. Not only that but it also helped with Land Distribution for those against the British. Lastly, it brought women’s rights allowing equality. These are the points that make “The American Revolution” revolutionary.
Firstly, the American Revolution was radical because the amount of social change that it brought has allowed to make America what it has become today. The way that we communicate with each other, live, and move around is all from the revolution. According to Document A, we can see that we were no longer with British rule and to show that, their statue was brought down, showing we are no longer be looked down upon. Next, as shown in Document B, to no longer have our rights taken, but to show that we are to be given unalienable rights given to us by our creator Himself. Lastly, as seen in Document D, it shows that both the rich and the poor playing billiards, ignoring all that is social classes and living in perfect harmony.
