The war of Mexico was started by the U.S. in 1846. Many people think the war was not justified, but was it. After the Battle of Alamo, Texas declare independence and applied to the U.S. for annexation but was rejected. But, President Polk’s action changes all of this. He sent troops over Texas to Mexico, this caused the Mexico to be very mad. So on May 9, 1846, the Mexican soldiers ambushed the American troops near Rio Grande River, this lead to the war of Mexico and U.S. The the United States was justified in going to war with Mexico. This is because of economic benefit, a retaliation for attacking American troops, and also because of the United States” beliefs in Manifest Destiny.

One reason the United States was justified in going to war with Mexico is because of economic benefit such as slavery and lands.
