Participating in the Washington Aerospace Scholars program is a unique opportunity provided to me and I want to take advantage of these opportunities. This program provides me with a chance to delve into and explore aerospace topics and problems in a structured manner. For example, I will be given the opportunity to work through problems resembling more realistic conditions. This will be a chance for me to apply skills I’ve learned in the classroom to a challenge relating to my interests. I hope to continue building my foundation for college and careers. Many of these skills will be fundamental to developing to a point to tackle a degree in engineering at a university level. This program provides me with a way to distinguish myself from others with opportunities for college credit and an exciting experience to work with other like-minded peers.

For example, I am currently in the Math Club at Aviation to help further my math ability. I participate in Science Olympiad as a builder to develop skills in design, building, and collaboration. These two things are both helping me in preparing for the rigor in my future. Furthermore, most of my volunteer work has been done through Boy Scouts of America and work projects within that. This has given me perspective on working through a task with others to complete a goal and has been a really rewarding experience. Hobbies of mine include, looking into topics that interest me. I am currently working on learning programs like excel and Photoshop made available through programs at my school to master these powerful tools. I started pursuing my interest in engineering many years ago and this was a big reason for me going to Aviation high school. In 8th grade through my design and engineering course, I was able to participate in Future City a program for designing a city of the future and won second place at the state-wide
