Throughout my eighth grade Washington D.C. experience, I had many memorable encounters. Severable of my most rememboral memories include; The White House, The U.S. Capitol, Mount Vernon, The Korean Memorial, , the National Archives, Ford’s Theatre, the metro ride and the Arlington Cemetery. These historical sites did not only teach valuable lessons, but they gave me a deeper understanding on major historic events. Overall, it was an honor to participate in the Washington D.C. Trip. In this paragraph, I will inform you about my confrontation with The White House, The U.S. Capitol, and Mount Vernon. On the first day of Washington D.C., our first stop was the White House. The Korean Memorial was a heart-rending experience. As me and my mother viewed the Korean Memorial, we saw a nearby Veteran. It was my pleasure to thank the Veteran who risked his life, so we could live happily. Seeing this Veteran, made me realize that everyday we need to thank God for the Veterans who fought for our better beings. We should never take any day of our life for granite, but we should be grateful for men who have influentially impacted our lives. Later on our visit included The National Archives Museum, it was marvellous site to see. Inside The National Archives Museum, I saw the actual Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and The Declaration of Independence. This once in a lifetime memory will never be forgotten. Another historic visit incorporated Ford’s Theatre, there I seen the actual gun that killed Abraham Lincoln. Also inside of Ford’s Theatre, there were several facts about Abraham Lincoln that gave me a deeper understanding of his life. At Ford’s Theatre, I read one of Lincoln’s famous quotes, “ That some achieve great success, is proof that other can achieve it as well.” This inspirational quote should push us all to strive to be successful.
