In chapter 14 of the novel The Watsons Go to Birmingham by Christopher Paul Curtis Byron says, “Kenny, things ain’t ever going to be fair…. But you just gotta understand that that’s the way it is and keep on steppin’.” (pg. 136) By this, I think that Byron means that there will always be death, evil and social injustice. Sometimes good people die and there are many things in life that are not fair. We cannot control the evil in the world. Plus, we will never completely eliminate prejudice. However, you still need to continue to live your life and try to make things better.
I think that this is good advice. He is right that things still aren’t fair. People continue to be murdered and it isn’t fair that some people survive violent attacks
