We Have No Right To Happiness By C. S. Lewis

In the short story, "We Have No Right to Happiness" by C.S. Lewis, made some strong points throughout the story, but after rereading the story, I got a better understanding of why he believes we don't have no right to happiness. C.S. Lewis is a brilliant man, and many of the points he made in the story made me have to think deeply about the concepts he mentioned really.
In the point that Lewis makes, " We Have No Right to Happiness," I have to agree with his stance of happiness. I believe that our right to happiness was based on our personal freedoms and when it does not oppose another person. For example, if I find happiest when I am playing basketball outside, then I have the right to do so. If I find happiness in kidnapping a person, I 'm not allowed to do so because it is interfering with that happiness of the individual. I would also agree on Lewis stance on sex when he talks about what happiness comes down to. He says, "Happiness is only sexual happiness."(Lewis 15) I agree because what society has come to shows how people always talk about the joy of sex. As a whole, we always go back and forth between finding happiness to finding another material item that brings joy. This concept frustrates me because

It says, "Delight yourself in the Lord: and he shall give you the desires of your heart."(Psalm 37:4) This Scripture wants us to find our happiness in God, and when we do, God will grant the desires of your heart. This scripture sounds so easy to do, but in reality, it is hard to accomplish because so much world things in this life surround us. Psalms 37:4 tell us that our happiness was found in God, not in sex, or happiness in our freedoms. This scripture contradicts the view C.S. Lewis stands on happiness because Lewis believes that we have no right to happiness, but in the word of God states our happiness is in Him and only
