Safety in Welding One day in a welding class at Isothermal Community College, an student was grinding metal on an angle grinder and was using the clear helmet, which is the safe way to grind. Then he took the piece of metal and started welding with the clear grinder helmet on. This caused his eyes to burn and he saw black spots for a few minutes. When changing jobs people also have to change safety equipment. In all jobs, there are dangerous situations that’s why there are safety rules and regulations. Safety equipment, dangers and how to prevent accidents are all important aspects of learning how to weld.

Welding helmets are a safety feature in welding. “They are an adjustable mask looking helmet that is tented to protect eyes from

Welder’s need to wear the proper clothes to protect themselves. Proper clothes protect the skin from getting severely burned and hurt. They can also get a burn like a sun burn if they don't protect their skin. Welder’s need to wear gloves for the protection of their hands. The hands get burned the worst and most often.”Wearing PPE is one of the easiest ways to improve safety while welding(Carpenter 1).”

Behavior while welding is very important on the job site. When on the site you are supposed to act mature. While welding if there is any horseplay someone can fall , get burnt or break fragile stuff. Your behavior while welding or around someone welding needs to be well behaved.

They are a lot of dangers in welding here are a few: fumes, gasses, electric shock, fire and explosions. Fumes and gasses are a big one they can make you sick and may cause long term damage.“Welding fumes can accumulate rapidly, with high concentration, and can force out breathable air, suffocating the welder in the process(Brown 1).” They make a special mask to prevent you from inhaling the fumes. “Confined spaces are the worst to weld in; they can keep the gasses inside longer and suffocate you faster(Brown

This article talks about how to avoid the danger during welding. It covers the hot work permit, ventilation, and fire prevention. It tells you what to use and do to avoid danger such as blow backs, fires, and arc burnsn.

This article is useful because it tells how to avoid dangers. It tells you the what you can to prevent people from getting hurt and yourself. It tell how to prevent it the others tells you what to wear. The information is reliable because the article tells what to do. Its objective because its trying to teach you how to prevent dangers from happening. Teach you how to prevent risk of dangers.
