1. What activities did I engage in to assist my client’s career development? During today’s session, I processed with my client his results from the MBTI and the SSI. Accordingly, I reviewed with him his personality type and his general occupational theme code. After explaining both codes, we discussed what the assessment indicated as areas within his occupational theme code that would be rewarding and motivating for him. We also discussed what occupations his scores indicated that he would be compatible with and fitting to his interest and personality type. We then delved into his work style and how he could effectively study and work. The client was unable to complete his homework from last week so we focused on utilizing O*NET and searched for careers that he may be interested in. We then went over the booklet “Where Do I go Next” so he could explore his reports more on his own and more career choices. I was also able to complete the initial intake with Savickas six questions.

I accomplished this by reviewing the results from the MBTI and SSI assessments with my client and demonstrating how O*NET works. I also wanted to gain a better understanding of where my client’s value systems originate through Savickas’ six questions. Although we completed the questions, I ran out of time to explore his value system so we will complete the exploration next session. My last goal for the week was to help my client become more aware of how his goals can be met by examining his self-knowledge and external influences by utilizing the career diamond as a conceptual tool, but again we ran out of
