When looking back in history, every civilization that exists in current day had to have started somewhere. Of course, some civilizations matter more than others, however during the First Wave, one of the most important civilization was the Ancient Egypt Civilization. It would soon become one of the most established civilizations in world history. Like every other civilization, it had an origin in which sparked the emergence, and its own form of government and economic system. However, the Ancient Egypt Civilization eventually declined, leaving both a positive and negative impact on history. The Ancient Egypt Civilization first started in Northeast Africa. As the civilization emerged it soon became famous for its Pharaohs and Pyramids. As every civilization has its own unique qualities, one of Ancient Egypt’s was their writing system. In the civilization, “Literacy defined elite status and conveyed enormous prestige to those who possessed it…Writing provided a means for some commoners to join the charmed circle of literature.” (Strayer, pg.71) For Ancient …show more content…
Positively, evidence has been found in architecture that demonstrates the legacy in which Ancient Egypt has left. For example, “later Egyptian temples look very similar to early Greek temples; and it has been suggested that the Ancient Greeks got the very idea of monumental building in stone from the Egyptians” (“Ancient Egypt Civilization”, n.d.) As history went on after the first-wave civilization, it brought a second-wave and a third-wave of civilizations, which eventually overtook the first wave. As civilizations kept emerging throughout history, changes were made like population, or the “growing size of the states or empires that structured civilizations” (Strayer. Pg. 87).
