Gentrification, defined as the process of renovating and improving a house or district so that it conforms to middle-class taste. At first thought, it may sound as a way to improve low income and deteriorated districts, but in a whole, gentrification has a backstory not many know of. Gentrification has severely sever the image of many cities within the past decade. For example, when comparing the 2000 census to the most recent census, the city of New York saw the most tracts ( neighborhoods) of gentrification totalling at 128 stated by Mike Maciag from Governing.com. Gentrification has also affected countries around the world. The use of gentrification leads to the removal of people with lower income in many areas and relocates them to one place where politically, the less favored candidate may win due to the placement of people. In conclusion, gentrification has affected lives around the world as well as in the Atlanta area. In general, gentrification has led to all types of social, economical, and political issues.Socially, gentrification has led to a change in neighborhoods in and around the Atlanta area. Economically, the value within goods and services around Atlanta has changed because of the gentrification occurring in neighborhoods and developing areas. Lastly, politically, mayor and council runnings are affected by gentrification as political parties organize advantage strategies where their party may receive the most votes due to the location of people. Overall, Atlanta has evolved throughout the time gentrification has started and with this brings consequences and opportunities both good and bad for the city while still being faced with the way about moving
