Bill Joy and Chris Langan, the Story of Success and Failure of Geniuses As a society, we believe success is shown by the accomplishments you have achieved that benefit you and the world. These accomplishments are the result of intelligence and hard work. Bill Joy and Chris Langan are both highly intelligent and are hard workers, however Bill helped create Adobe, received a PhD and even helped rewrite UNIX. Chris Langan however, had the same, maybe even higher level of intelligence but never got a degree, and the book he wrote was never published. Bill grew up in what seemed to be a middle-class family, where he got a full education and even got into college at Michigan and later transferred to the University at Berkeley California.
