World War Two was the result of the restrictions put on Germany from the first world war, it was called the Treaty of Versailles and it left unresolved tensions across Europe. The war started on the first of September, 1939 and ended six years later in 1945. The war consisted of two alliances, the Allies, US, Russia, China, France and Australia, they were against the Axis, Germany, Japan and Italy as well as other minor countries. The axis powers were the ones who caused most of the destruction in Europe and in the Pacific and towards the end of the war, they took more than they could handle which resulted in their defeat.

Adolf Hitler’s intention during the years before WWII started was to take back the land that his country had lost prior to the treaty that was made after the first world war, it was also to gain more agricultural lands so they would no longer depend on trades (ww2history, n.d.). When Hitler broke the Treaty of Versailles and the Allies declared war on Germany, WWII broke out in Europe. Hitler was unaware that when he had decided to fight on the Allies, he would also be fighting their empire. He was successful in the few first battles occurring early in the war but as it continued his army was short on materials such as oil and ammunition. Hitler’s army was spread thin throughout the Eastern and Western fronts as well as down in the Mediterranean where he helped Italian Prime Minister, Benito Mussolini, fight against the Greeks which had only drained Hitler’s supplies further (Lowe 2013, 109-110). Another mistake made by Hitler was depending on his Blitzkrieg too often. In the mind of Dr Krill Anderson, a former director of the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History, Dr Anderson states that due to the leader’s dependence on the Blitz, he did not prepare for Russia’s weather conditions therefore the German army had no protection from the cold weather (Ww2history,
