There was more than just one cause for the Russian Revolution. Like this quote says “government corruption was rampant, the Russian economy remained backwards, and Nicholas repeatedly dissolved the Duma…”(“Russian Revolution” History.com) This quote has all the causes in it and there's more than one. The government was corrupt and because of that ,the economy wasn't even working. Even better Nicholas kept dissolving the Duma, which would have gave critical advice to help him control his government. Russian radicals including the Bolsheviks led by Lenin, came up with an idea to overthrow Czar Nicholas II.(“Russian Revolution” History.com). A huge strike full of industrial workers started and got even bigger. The soldiers soon enough joined the strikers side. The revolution affected all of Russia. Nicholas II was abdicated from the throne and his brother refused the position of Czar ending the czar autocracy. Lenin became …show more content…
Lenin wrote many newspapers containing Marxist ideas and they spreader all over Russia. This lead to people thinking about revolution. Just like this quote says “...the spirit of revolution was spreading across all of Russia.” (Matt). Lenin was spreading was spreading ideals for the Marxist society getting people ready for change. The Social Democratic Labor party split up into two groups, one group being the Bolsheviks. Lenin became leader of this group which would prove to be useful and a very smart decision. When the Bolsheviks gained power Lenin was elected chairman. This would allow him to continue helping form Russia into a Marxist society. Before Lenin was elected chairman he still affected all the Russian people. He was able to start a “mass strike in Moscow.” (Matt). Which led to other strikes and turned into a revolt.
