Many explorations happened in the 1500’s, but some carried over to the early 1600’s and ended in 1611, such as the explorer Henry Hudson. Hudson went on many expeditions looking for new routes to different places. Hudson didn't have many sponsors but he had a couple. Hudson had many more expeditions with his own crew then he did with someone else running the ship. In 1609 Hudson took charge of a ship named Half Moon. while Hudson was on that ship they explored Hudson's river to what is now Albany. Also in 1609 Hudson left on his third voyage and reached land that July. Hudson left England on April 1610. While Hudson was on one of his explorers the condition got so bad they couldn't sail any more. On June 1611 conditions finally improved enough for them to sail. Hudson also had plenty of routes that he went down. Hudson went to north America James Bay, Hudson Bay, Asia, Novaya Zemlya an archipelago in the arctic ocean north of Russia, northeast passage, northwest passage, and the western passage.
