In Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the motif of blood is presented many times, in which blood symbolizes danger/death and guilt. The first time that the symbol of blood stood out is when Macbeth kills Duncan. He is filled with guilt and says, “Will all great Neptune’s ocean wash this blood / Clean from my hand?
