What Does Harrison Bergeron Mean When Everyone Is The Same

While Harrison Bergeron, something that stuck out to me the most is how everyone is the same and that most people genuinely didn’t care if they were controlled because it had become normal to them. The short story reminds me of how essential being different is, how it affects other people, and a lesson I learned from when I was younger. One thing special about humans is that everybody is different. We are all equal in our own way because we can always find something we are exceptional at whether it comes from strength, beauty, talent, atletism or intelligence. We all have are strengths and weaknesses, but most people only see the flaws in themselves.
I believe the author used this story as an example to show how awful and different everything might be if each person was equal. If this was to happen in our lifetime lots of stuff would not work and it would create a very corrupt society. Most societies today want to be equal and fair, but there is an extent to how far you can go when doing these types of things. Just because we have the choice to be different doesn’t mean we will. A great deal of people try to be the same through fashion and other items to fit in with the crowd.

He swung over and over again countless times, breaking their noses and leaving them with bruises all over their bodies. After the principle had stopped the fight I never saw him again because he was charged with assault. This reminds me a lot of the story, the bullies being the government while the kid was Harrison Bergeron going against them for being different. No, he was not impeccable like Harrison but he stood up for himself because he wanted to be different and didn’t care what others thought of him. He taught the bullies and anyone that witnessed it a lesson because you never know what is bound to happen when you push someone past their
