To me, integrity means morals and truthfulness. If you have integrity, you are always true to yourself and to others. You will constantly do the right thing, which makes you reliable. The truthfulness of someone’s actions depends upon lived experiences. Integrity is depended on someone’s behaviors, their actions, and what they say. Integrity applies to everyone in life, especially school. Teachers can help students believe in themselves. Educational deception is something we see in our everyday lives. Some examples of that are cheating, deception, and complicity. Cheating is when you receive a reward without doing anything yourself. Students usually cheat during tests. Students tend to forget homework either at home or in their lockers. Instead of taking a lower grade, they will most likely tell the teacher that they handed it in. This generally makes the teacher feel bad that they lost the paper and tell the student that they have to do it again, but won’t get any points taken off.
Lastly, complicity means to help someone be dishonest. Sometimes, friends coerce their other friends into ‘helping’ them, but end up doing the whole assignment for them. Another example is taking an exam for someone else. This example is pointless because everyone gets caught.
A specific example of integrity in my school life is when students study enough to not be tempted to cheat. An example of dishonesty in my school life is plagiarism. Plagiarism is when you copy someone else’s work and take credit for it. Students usually plagiarize either when they are in a rush after forgetting to do some homework or when they do not feel like putting in the time and being too lazy to do anything. Sometimes teachers routinely check for plagiarizers by typing in a phrase from the essays online. I think integrity will affect my future by people trusting me. As long as I am honest I will live a good life with no worries and a peace of mind. I will also have respect for myself and
