What Does It Mean To Be Civilized

Is the United States really a civilized country? Just think about it. Think of all the death that happens. Yes, we do have laws against it, murderers do get caught most of the time. We say we’re civil because we have an effective government, advanced technology, smart leaders, and we don’t have any sort of dictators. But people still bully, tease, steal, kill, torture, curse, and commit other dirty dirty sins. Animals show dominance, kill, steal, and are very territorial. We show dominance by bragging, showing off, or compliment ourselves. We have people in this world that kill. I will, as you can probably guess by now, be answering the question “What does it mean to be civil?”.

A characteristic of being civilized is having a large population center. Large population centers are defined as an area where a lot of people live in MacMillan’s Dictionary. We have that today in our civilization. Animals have that too(habitats/nest’s), but they’re technically not “civilized”. Why does this make us civilized. Is it because we are smart enough to be able to all contribute to gather in one place? That just sounds like being reasonable, but not civilized.

Somebody on Earth tell me how is THAT a characteristic of civilization! How is it really? That is just being different and making the world look more colorful, unique, strange, fun, but not CIVILIZED! Art is a cool thing to see, create, think about, and love. But it is not something that should make a nation a “civilized”
