I am sweating and freezing at the same time. My body doesn’t know how to react as I walk through the enormous doors having the same feeling as if he is going into jail. I twist the cold handle and walked through feeling the AC air blast in my face. People are yelling, while it seems like they are maybe transitioning classes? Then after watching that happen, someone touches me on the shoulder and I look up to an adult. Maybe it’s the school principal, her name tag says Mrs. Gardner. She says “ Hi. ” to me and I reply back the same. She seems nice, but there is a long way ahead of me in this new school.

I am about 2 days into school. I am still getting used to the different schedules, also trying to make some friends but I am not successful yet. In addition to the regular classes like math, science, and others I am learning english too. I am not that great, but he will learn sooner or later in the year. I also take the bus home every day, I try to sit next to some kids to make some friends but they say it’s taken. And then I end up sitting on my own in the back of the bus.

Usually the new kids get friends fast, but in this school it’s all different. I go to lunch all ready to make some friends, I look around and see this big group of kids. They are the popular group.
