Oh what Irony! The center of both the word sin and the word pride is the word ‘I’? F. Scott Fitzgerald had a hard time writing “The Great Gatsby”. Really this story was about the pridefulness about people. The name of the title is miss fitting, therefore the title of this story should have been, “Pride and Ego”.
On page 89, Gatsby states, “My house looks well doesn't it?” This shows Gatsby’s pride and how he is feeling about his house. He thinks that his house is the greatest looking house that anyone has ever seen, and that no one can top his house.
