Now that I am (almost) finished with Honors English 8 (and just 8th grade in general), I have a lot of things to think about. For one thing, I shouldn’t have been so optimistic at the beginning of the year. I thought that just by getting into the 8th grade, all of my old bad habits would disappear in an instant. I have found that 1) that isn’t true AT ALL; habits take a long time to break, and 2) I didn’t really give myself the time to break said habits, and I ended up in an even deeper rabbit hole of missing assignments, which I was trying to avoid in the first place. That being said, if I completely screw this up, it’ll be even worse since it’s not Honors English. And since I have a reputation of screwing up, it makes me worry about how I’ll do in high school, especially since it really counts now. Plus, it’s the only non-honors academic class I’m taking, so I’m worried that even if I improve in English, that I’ll fall behind in all my other
