What I Learned To Teach Class Origami

For the leadership activity, my group had to decide on a topic to teach the class that would inspire others to work hard to accomplish the given task. After discussing various topics, my group decided to teach the class origami. We taught our classmates three different origami pieces, the first one being a frog, the second being a balloon, and the third being a crane. The pieces went in order from beginner, intermediate, and difficulty level. Before the day of the presentation, my group had encountered some difficulties. We had to make sure all three origami pieces were successfully completed in the given time frame, which was very short, as well as expect the students to be successful on their first attempt since the objective was to successfully complete all three origami pieces. Accordingly, all we had to do was implement our leading abilities in order to accomplish our goal. We did have concerns if the students were able to accomplish the task, but we tried our best to avoid this by planning ahead, assigning task responsibilities, such as one member demonstrating the piece at the front using the projector, while the rest of the members act as helpers and go around the classroom to personally assist those who were having difficulties following. We also urged task completion and monitored the student's performance results. As a leader, we had to inspire the students to work hard, motivate commitment, and build enthusiasm, which we successfully did.
