For thousands of years humans have been known for their ability to think creatively. However, in modern day school systems standardized and curriculums are being used as a way of supposedly ‘enhancing’ creativity. ‘PISA’ is an example of how standardized testing is now being manipulated to enhance creatively. First developed in the year 2000, PISA’s aim is to evaluate education systems worldwide by testing the skills and knowledge of 15-16 year old students. Their approach to standardized testing is to stimulate creativity by testing students on self knowledge and real-world problem solving skills. People no longer have to think for themselves, as methodologies like these are controlling how humans think and process information. Although PISA and other means of learning are praised by many, standardized testing and curriculums nowadays are some of the main reasons humans are now finding it difficult to think creatively. …show more content…
When the teacher says to Samuel, “But the curriculum’s are designed to make you think about Black History critically” it puts an emphasis on how teaching methods are controlling the way humans think. It is implied and said that humans rely on ‘educated professionals’ to write and set curriculum’s, thus not having a say in what or how they are
