Frederick Douglass was another man that support woman suffrage. He was born into slavery and became one of the most outspoken supporters of abolition and women’s right. He supported Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony along with other women’s rights activists in their strive for women suffrage. He published his autobiography called Narrative of Life of Frederick Douglass in 1845 that discussed his childhood as a slave in Maryland and the cruel treatment that he and other slaves went through. He escaped from bondage and fled to New York City in 1838 and he described his joy that he felt when he arrived in the North.
