In this week's blog post concerning The Great Gatsby I will be exploring the seemingly mysterious character of Gatsby.

When we first meet him Gatsby appears to be an extremely rich man, with seemingly no friends. Gatsby throws elaborate parties every weekend; but once the party is over Gatsby seems to be left without anyone, "a sudden emptiness seemed to flow... endowing with complete isolation the figure the figure of the host, who stood on the porch, his hand up in a formal gesture of farewell."
