Everyone has their own different idea of what it means to be an American, there is no right or wrong example of the ideal American. However, most Americans share the same common dream. That dream for numerous people has always been based on success, freedom and the pursuit of happiness. So I believe that being American is all about doing whatever makes you happiest.
