Fahrenheit 451 final essay The character who plays a critical role in re-education of Montag is Clarisse, Faber, and Beatty in a reverse way. Throughout the book, there are many characters who help in montage discovery of the truth. Clarisse opens Montag's eyes she is the one who gets him started on the change he wants. She asks Montag the questions that matter. Faber teaches him how to understand the words he is reading and not to have him just flow through. He also guides Montag through his daily challenges.
