Slavery was one of the biggest part of the conflict, but it was not the only contribution to the wars beginning. Some other contributing factors for the beginning of the Civil War was people in the north were starting to realize that blacks were humans to and they deserved equal rights. Secondly there were people in the south thinking that northerns had too much power which set a spark to which side has more power. Which made America’s economy low because of the country being at war with itself. The reason why it took 200 years for slavery to become such a divisive issue was people were more focused on building up the nation overall standards and to try to create its government to where almost everyone agreed on it.
