While on the other hand, author of “When I Woke Up Tuesday Morning, It Was Friday”, Martha Stout discusses how trauma alters the brain itself. Unfortunately for many victims who do not truly get past their trauma, it inevitably returns from the past to haunt them. The thing with these victims is that they are all interconnected in certain way; one little, simple feature of their current environment can trigger them to assume they are reliving their most feared nightmare once again, if it is similar to a feature during the traumatic experience. In addition, Gladwell talks about the devastating crime rate incline in New York City during the 1980s and 90s.
