1. White collar crime is generally a non0violent crime that does more “monetary and emotional damage in one yar than violent crimes do in several. It involves “deceit, concealment, subterfuge, and other fraudulent activity. “ For instance, it could involve bank fraud, corporate crimes. WCC can be performed by individuals who are highly educated and in positions or power and trust who are motivated by greed. WCC can also be motivated by indivudals who are in economic distress.
WCC is increasing with online crimes becoming the most prevelant. It is not researched extensively due to the fact that most feel it does not have as much negative impact on society as traditional crimes
White-collar crime has a strong influence on business ethics. Corporate level executives involved in ethical practices that lead to these types of crimes typically justify their crimes. Common justifications are:
Deny responsibility
Denial of injury
Denial of the victim
Condemnation of the condemners
Appeal to a higher authority
Everyone else is doing it
Entitlement

Code of Ethics- Also known as a Code of Conduct, is defined as “A written set of guidelines issued by an organization to its workers and management to help them conduct their actions in accordance with its primary values and ethical standards”.
