Magnificent Liar In life there are so many different persona’s that you will encounter, and some are more despicable than others. For example, Abigail Williams in the play, The Crucible, displays her evil nature through her never-ending lies. Obviously, she is quite confident in her ability to turn someone’s hand in her favor. This confidence allows her to pull off a lot more lies that you might think she could. “Don't lie! She comes to me while I sleep; she's always making me dream corruptions! (1154) Basically, Abigail is set to do whatever it takes to protect her own name, even if she has to ruin another’s. Despite her efforts to project doubt into John’s mind, he had decided that he did not want to have anything to do with Abigail Williams ever again. Abigail’s manipulative ways shined bright throughout the entirety of The Crucible. A lot of that credit has got to go to the culture of Salem. If the town of Salem had not been Puritan based, Abigail would not have been able to convince so many people into believing her false accusations. There were several messages being transmitted to me while learning about Abigail, but the relation between your upbringing and who you are as a person were altogether too striking for me not to mention.
